How Managers’ Green Transformational Leadership Affects a Firm’s Environmental Strategy, Green Innovation, and Performance: The Moderating Impact of Differentiation Strategy

Makale | 2023 | Sustainability15 ( 4 ) , pp.1 - 20

No prior literature has investigated the effect of managers’ green transformational leadership (GTL) on financial performance (FP). The current study introduces an original research framework with the aim of filling in this gap. This study introduces a completer analytical framework by considering the direct impacts of managers’ GTL on FP and the indirect impacts of managers’ GTL under the joint action of corporate environmental strategy (CES), green product innovation (GPT), and green process innovation (GPI). Furthermore, based on the question of how enterprises can earn profit from GPT, analyzing the moderator impact of different . . .iation strategy on the relationship between GPT and FP is also within the context of the present study. The data collected from 315 firms with the ISO 14001 certificate in the First and Second 500 Industrial Enterprises List of Turkey in 2018 were tested in the SmartPLS 3 analysis program. The empirical evidence shows that managers’ GTL affects FP both directly and indirectly through CES and GPI. However, it is concluded that GPT does not have a direct positive impact on FP. Considering GPT and differentiation strategy jointly, it is observed that its relationship with FP is positive and significan Daha fazlası Daha az

Does Green Transformational Leadership Develop Green Absorptive Capacity? The Role of Internal and External Environmental Orientation

Makale | 2022 | Article , pp.1 - 20

Numerous researchers have investigated the concept of green absorptive capacity, but relatively few studies have been performed on its antecedents. The objective of the present research was to develop and empirically test a theoretical model, which analyzes how green transformational leadership and the (internal and external) environmental orientation of business owner‒managers in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affect green absorptive capacity. The data were collected from 373 SMEs with an ISO 14001 certificate in Turkey’s manufacturing industry by the survey method. The data were examined in the SmartPLS 3 analysis pro . . .gram to analyze the hypotheses. According to the research findings, the green transformational leadership of business owner‒ managers in SMEs and (internal and external) environmental orientation significantly influence the green absorptive capacity. The findings also revealed that (internal and external) environmental orientation partially mediates the correlation between the green transformational leadership and green absorptive capacity. Hence, this research presented new information on how green transformational leadership and the (internal and external) environmental orientation of business owner‒ managers improve green absorptive capacity in SMEs. Impacts of Market Orientation on Firm Performance in SMEs of Turkey: A Serial Mediation Approach

Makale | 2023 | Journal of Information & Knowledge Management22 ( 2 ) , pp.1 - 27

No previous studies in the literature have investigated the serial mediation impact of innovation capability and product innovation on the in°uence of market orientation on ¯rm performance. The focus in this research is on the role of the combination of innovation capability and product innovation in the in°uence of market orientation on ¯rm performance. To that end, it is aimed to examine the direct and indirect impacts of market orientation on ¯rm performance (through innovation capability and product innovation, respectively). The data collected from 739 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Turkey by employing the online . . .survey method were tested using the SmartPLS 3 analysis programme. Pieces of empirical evidence have revealed that both market orientation and innovation capability act as important antecedents of product innovation. Moreover, mediation analysis demonstrates that innovation capability and product innovation in turn mediate the connection between market orientation and ¯rm performance. Consequently, this research provides pieces of evidence showing that SMEs can increase their ¯rm performance with innovations they can make in their products by improving their innovation capability with a market-oriented approach so that they can open up to foreign markets in theory and practice Daha fazlası Daha az

Top management's green transformational leadership and competitive advantage: the mediating role of green organizational learning capability

Purpose - This study aims to develop an original green organizational learning capability (GOLC) framework to examine the effects of green transformational leadership (GTL) on competitive advantage (CA) through GOLC by making use of the natural resource-based view (NRBV). Design/methodology/approach - The current research proposes GOLC as a novel construct that simultaneously integrates green absorptive capability (GAC) and green transformative capability (GTC). Furthermore, this study presents a theoretical model that investigates GOLC as an intermediate mechanism in the relationship between GTL and CA based on the NRBV. The partia . . .l least squares method is used to test the data collected from 265 firms included in the list of Turkeys Top 500 Industrial Enterprises in 2019 and having ISO 14001 certificate. Findings - Top management's GTL positively affects the firm's GOLC. Moreover, GOLC positively affects the firm's CA. This study further shows that GIL has a significant indirect effect on CA through GOLC. Practical implications - This study demonstrates how firm managers can be persuasive in adopting GOLC with a critical role in developing and promoting green products and services to improve the firm's environmental sustainability and CA by exhibiting GTL. Originality/value - This research applies the NRBV theory to propose a novel concept, GOLC and develops an integral conceptual model to discover its managerial impacts, antecedent and consequence. No prior literature has examined the impact of top management's GTL on GOLC and CA Daha fazlası Daha az

The relationships among charismatic leadership, job satisfaction, and entrepreneurial orientation: An empirical study in the R&D department Karizmatik liderlik, iş tatmini ve girişimcilik yönelimi arasındaki ilişkiler: Ar-ge departmanında ampirik bir çalışma

Makale | 2021 | BMIJ

In the context of social learning theory, this study aims to determine how the charismatic leadership of managers affects the entrepreneurial orientation of R&D employees and whether job satisfaction has any mediating effect in this relationship. In this context, data were collected through questionnaire method from 392 employees working in the R&D departments of the companies operating in the manufacturing industry, which are included in the Top 500 Industrial Enterprises List of Turkey. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 package program. As a result of the analyses, it was found out that the managers’ charismatic leadership . . . behaviours affect job satisfaction and entrepreneurship orientation of the R&D employees. Furthermore, the job satisfaction of the R&D employees has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between charismatic leadership and entrepreneurial leadership orientation. These findings show that organizations will increase their entrepreneurial exposure by influencing the job satisfaction of their employees with a charismatic leadership approach Daha fazlası Daha az
